Whitstable Choral Society -Spring Concert - Brahms-Requiem

Whitstable Choral Society is back, they will be performing Brahms' magnificent German Requiem, sung in the original German form. Ein Deutsches Requiem was first heard in Bremen Cathedral on Good Friday 1868 and has since become a staple for choral music lovers. It is rich complex and very moving.
The choir will be accompanied by two soloists, the soprano Tasmin Coombs and the baritone Andrew Rupp. Pianists are Stefan Catto and Patrick Dunn.
This performance promises to be special on many levels, it is live and listened to by a welcome audience, both have been in short supply recently. In addition, this will be the first concert conducted by Spencer Payne, the choir's new musical director.
